I realized the other night why I love Music and Lyrics so much - aside from the obvious that it's a cute, funny, awesome movie.
One of the first "major" stories that I tried writing was about a girl who fell in love with a musician in a rock band. I eventually expanded the story into three stories, each featuring a member of the band at a different time in the band's history, and telling how they ended up with the girl they did. I never finished any of the stories, but I had them planned out pretty well. Since I got about 50 pages into it, I never tried to re-write "Written at Creation" directly, but over the years, I tried other scenarios featuring the girl and the guy from the rock band. None of them really went anywhere - then again, as evidenced here, none of them ever do.
Music and Lyrics makes my husband want to start a band or at least work on music again. It makes me wish I could write a story about the girl and the guy from the rock band.
I know it's not particularly creative, but it's about being creative...or my lack of it...or something.
Just take what you can get at this point, ok?
